The meeting was called to order by vice president Randy Byboth, at 6:55 on Monday, October 8th, 2007. Members in attendence were: Walt Duffy, Brian Kennedy, Bob Youngdahl, Rich & Liz Stadther, Mark Anderson, Mark Brandow, Jeff Ingebrigtson, Bill Groshen, Dick Geasy. Roger Carnoff, John Olson, Greg Meyer, and Jack Church. The first item on the agenda was discussion of this past year of racing. It was discussed that our club needs to plan sooner and finalize our clubs decisions before it becomes a last minute thing. The board tallked about driving problems and the race event with the Porsche club. All agreed the "Loonacy" event was successful from both our clubs viewpoint, and also from the Porsche club. Bob Youngdahl said that last summers race with the Porsche club at $300 per person, plus the generous donations from some special sponsors, broke even to the dollar. He also said that next year we will have more vintage racers with some of the older Porche club entries. Our Insurance costs may change next year as we may able to piggyback on the Porsche Clubs insurance.

The agenda was then turned to fundraising possibilities for the VSCR. Members have been in touch with the Hopkins Center for the Arts, who hold a 1 week festival in July, and the theme is car related. This could offer the possibility of a "Race Car" show and cookout, dinner, cocktail party, black tie event, or some type of fundraiser to build up the VSCR's coffers. It was decided that we needed a comittee to think out some sort of agenda for a fundraiser. Walt Duffy and Mark Anderson volunteered to be on the comittee. Other people are also needed.

The competition comittee has announced a possiblerace in July at BIR with the VSCDA. Our club must contact the VSCDA board to start the procedeure rolling. They will discuss it at their board meeting. W are in an excellent position to invite the VSCDA to join us, as the new Brainerd track will be of interest to many racers, and the VSCDA schedule has a hole in it in July. There are twice the racing dates available with the new track layout. Bob Youngdahl proposed 2 races and 1 test date at BIR in 2008. 1 race with the Porsche club, one race with another club, and a test date. Liz agreed to help sharpen up a letter to the VSCDA board.

Bob Youngdahl reviewed the competition meeting at Autopia. There were requests from members concerning bylaw changes. Brian Crombie summarized the concerns, and the board reviewed the summary. It was decided that a rules package would be drawn up, and voted on by the membership. The new rules package will be presented to the board for discussion and approval at the next board meeting, and then passed onto the membership for a vote.

Preliminary nominations were suggested for new board members for 2008. It was decided that a email letter would be sent out to all members, to get further interest in the process, and more nominations. The board discussed early nominations at the meeting. Mark Anderson was nominated for Vice President. Mark Brandow was nominated for treasurer. Nominations for the competition comittee included John Hertzgaard as chairman, Bob Youngdahl and Brian Crombie. Monday, October 22nd will be the official Nomination meeting for the VSCR, held at Quality Coaches. Monday November 12th, a meeting will be held for the election of new officers for the 2008 season, also at Quality Coaches. All club members are encouraged to attend.

The board meeting was adjourned at 8:16.

Mark Anderson
